About

Welcome! I write and speak about inspirational experiences and eye-opening insights that brings the Word and Breath of God into our every day life.  My faith background comes from a mixture of communities who I call, The Church.

Growing up, people would ask me what religion I was. They were looking for a denomination. To their surprise I would answer, "Christian."  Here's the download to why I seem to fit wherever God calls me and I couldn't pick a denomination, but instead, claimed the faith.

My hometown church is Lutheran where I was confirmed.  I attended a Baptist church with my neighborhood girlfriends as one of the Moms would load us in her van and we would go to weekly "Pioneer Girls" Bible studies. I also popped in a time or two in a friend's Methodist Sunday School.

When I frequently visited family in Iowa, we attended their small-town, Pentecostal church.  There, I fell head-over-heels in love with His Holy Spirit and the freedom of worship.  We sang, clapped and lifted our hands while joyful songs were sung to a bouncing upright piano, banjo, fiddle and guitar.  There may have even been a yodel or two.

Back home in the city when I was in high school, I was introduced to my first  non-denominational church during the height of the Jesus People Movement and spent many Friday nights there. I continue to find myself in non-denominational Christian organizations frequently as well as visiting family who are now with Evangelical congregations.

College years started me out at a private Baptist college and I switched my sophomore year to a State College that had too many enroll and they couldn't support the housing needs. So, I was housed in a dorm on a Catholic college campus and fell in love with the nuns.  I attended a Catholic church there with my best friend and the Lutheran church with some of my other best friends.

I started life in a predominantly Jewish suburb with its synagogues and delicatessens.  It is so much a part of me that  my favorite birthday dinner is still corned beef and bagels. Decades later, I have returned to that area attending special events at a Messianic Jewish church.

The Hebrew roots are deep within me and the significance of it in understanding the Bible in both Old and New Testaments are treasures coming to the surface as I study the Word. I attribute all understanding and vision to this through His Holy Spirit.

My comfort with the fullness of His Trinity and all His people gives me a deep, deep love that comes from knowing Him in all these ways and places.

In spite of this list of  Houses of God, I managed to spend some years outside of them.  I've sinned enough to make any of you feel good.  I get it and I don't dare judge.  I thank Jesus for His incredible gift of forgiveness and grace.

I'm a witness to many miracles, life transformations and the outrageous love of God.  During years outside of the church, but upon my return to living for Jesus, I walked very closely with the LORD in a deep and private relationship.  I just pretty much walked in His vastness..
